A day in the life of Leo - Part 1.

It's no where near done yet, just a rough sketch done out of boredom. 
A manga strip (Read right to left) of Leo and myself, how our days usually go. :-P

I read a rather wide range of books, not just YA. So, I'll be posting a few here that I have read. 
ADULT BOOKS, 18+!


First up is a Historical/Fiction book that I really enjoyed! 
If you like feminist books, with a strong/kick-ass female main charater, then this is your book! Oh, and erm.. pets, that she collects along the way.

Earth's Children

Jean M Auel

(18+)

'This novel of awesome beauty and power is a moving saga about people, relationships, and the boundaries of love. Through Jean M. Auel’s magnificent storytelling we are taken back to the dawn of modern humans, and with a girl named Ayla we are swept up in the harsh and beautiful Ice Age world they shared with the ones who called themselves the Clan of the Cave Bear. 

A natural disaster leaves the young girl wandering alone in an unfamiliar and dangerous land until she is found by a woman of the Clan, people very different from her own kind. To them, blond, blue-eyed Ayla looks peculiar and ugly--she is one of the Others, those who have moved into their ancient homeland; but Iza cannot leave the girl to die and takes her with them. Iza and Creb, the old Mog-ur, grow to love her, and as Ayla learns the ways of the Clan and Iza’s way of healing, most come to accept her. But the brutal and proud youth who is destined to become their next leader sees her differences as a threat to his authority. He develops a deep and abiding hatred for the strange girl of the Others who lives in their midst, and is determined to get his revenge.' 

--Do not knock this series until you try it! Admitted, I nearly passed on it, but then though I'd give the first one a go. 

First of all, it is really quite a feminist book. The main character is a young girl of five years called Ayla, you read as she grows up over time in the first book 'The Clan of The Cave Bear'.  The first book mainly focuses on how Ayla grows up, being one of the early Homo Sapiens among Neanderthals. She surprises them constantly and challenges what they think they know.  

In the books that follow, Ayla meets others like herself and also gains a couple of pets. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who decides to read them though, so I wont say what pets and companions she gains. 

Ah, and there is romance. But, definitely of an adult kind so I warn yet again, only 18+!

Next up is back to Paranormal/Fantasy and the like;

Dark Swan 

Richelle Mead

(Another 18+)

-- I think by now you should just assume that the lead character is female and kick-ass. As they're mainly the kind of books I read. 

So, here we have Fae, demons, shapeshifters ect.. Y'know, your average Paranormal book. Not. 

Quirky humour that had me in fits of giggles, to heated arguments that had me putting my face closer to the book (I have no idea why I do this as it makes me go cross-eyed!?). Then onto steamy romance with a gorgeous Fae and a funny shape-shifter. Sigh. What more could you want? 

Ah, I have to dedicate a post to my animals. Especially my cat or he'll never forgive me.

Kizzie the Immortal Chinchilla

Next up is my adorable Chinchilla Kizzie, who, by the way, I'm beginning to think is immortal. 
She is nineteen years old and celebrates her birthday on the same day as me, 9th June. So, we are the same age exactly. Kinda. 
She's bobbing on a bit, but still the cutest most lovable creature I've ever known. She loves her corn cob treats and hates the food pellets she gets in her chinchilla food. 

Ellie Mae (Border Collie) and the Beautiful Belle (German Shepherd)

Ellie is my mums dog, the prettiest Collie dog ever. She is loving and loves playing ball.
Belle was my dads dog, she passed away just before Christmas, she was an amazingly loyal and protective dog. She was a complete softie and very missed.

Two YA book series I'd suggest reading, and why? :)

Alrighty then, as I've no idea what I'm supposed to do on this bit, I'll just make a list of some of my favourite books and my thoughts on said books! :D 
From now on, I'll be posting each time I read a book, not like anybody is reading this, but hey! Gives me somewhere to vent and boast. :P
First up, YA;

Tiger Saga by Colleen Houck 

'The last thing teenager Kelsey Hayes thought she'd be doing over the summer was meeting Ren, a mysterious white tiger and cursed Indian prince when she learns she alone can break the Tiger's curse, Kelsey's life is turned upside-down. The unlikely duo journeys halfway around the world to piece together an Indian prophecy, find a way to free the man trapped by a centuries-old spell, and discover the path to their true destiny. '

-- This is one of my all time favourite series. I've read it about four times, though the newest book Tiger's Voyage I've only read once, so far at least ;). I adore tiger's for starters and there is a yummy love triangle between the main girl Kelsey and the two cursed brothers Ren and Kishan. 

Usually I root for one guy in particular the whole way through but with this series at first I was like, Go Kishan! Then I was like, awww, poor Ren, he should get the girl. So, I was constantly back and forth until eventually I adored them both. First time this has ever happened with me. :P

This book is a must read if you enjoy YA shapeshifter books, love triangle and a curse that is meant to be broken! :')

Next up is; 

Maximum Ride by James Patterson

-- Now, what to say about this one.. I've followed this series since the first book came out and the very last one is due out the end of this year. I'll be sad when it's over, but I am glad to finally find out what happens to the Flock/s. 

This series has some pretty sweet romance in it, though it doesn't properly appear until around about the third book. Then an interesting triangle further on too. Plus, hello! THEY HAVE WINGS! Can't get any cooler than that now, can it?

The main Character 'Max' is a kick-ass heroine, she's witty has a quirky sense of humour and of course, kick's ass, literally. 

Fang VS Dillan, who do you think should have Max? 

Personally I'm totally on Fangs side. :')
